Colleagues from Anchor’s Bradford offices have spent time cooking a three course Christmas dinner with homemade mince pies for 50 residents at Scholebrook Court.
A fun packed afternoon was had by all with carol singing by local school children from St Columbas Primary School, entertainment from Johnny Dee - a Neil Diamond tribute act, and not forgetting a visit from Santa with presents for all the residents.
Alongside the festivities the team held a raffle and tombola which raised £114 for the Holmewood Gala which is being organised by residents and aims to bring the local community together.
The day of Christmas cheer was arranged by Steven Newbatt MacDonald, Anchor’s Customer Engagement Co-ordinator. Steven said: “It was great to see how all of the team pulled together to create such a special event for our customers.
“All the volunteers who took part agreed that they had a great time and would like to do this again in the future.”
Another Anchor location, Springfield care home also joined in on the day, cooking the turkey and making the trifles for dessert.
One of the volunteers, Claire Banks, Customer Centre Advisor, said: “It was very hard work to get everything to come together with the decoration, cooking and serving but it was worth all the effort. It was a great day and the residents loved it.
“To see them all enjoying it and complimenting how good the room looked was very rewarding and made it all worthwhile.”
