Residents form Oakleigh care home in Godstone have welcomed Christine Tucker from the Canadian High Commission to visit them.

The visit was organised by staff at the care home as part of their “Virtual Cruise” project. The residents at Oakleigh are visiting seven different countries between April and October, all from the comfort of their lounge, finding out more about different cultures, art, food and music from around the world.

Manager Laura Gilyeat said: “I’m really pleased someone form the Canadian High Commission was able to visit our residents, it was a great way for them to find out more about Canada.”

Ms Tucker handed out flags and pin badges during her presentation, and was given a tour of the care home and got to see some of the Canadian inspired crafts the residents had been doing in the lead up to the visit.
