Residents at Selkirk House care home in Plymstock have enjoyed two special Christmas visits.

Children from Goosewell School visited to perform a mixture of traditional carols and Christmas songs that filled the home’s dining room with festive cheer.

Residents and staff thoroughly enjoyed the singing, instrumental solos and school band group performances.

Hospitality Manager, James Kazer said: “It was lovely to see the residents sing along and join in with the choir – it was a delightful sight.”

Residents and staff have also been treated to an afternoon of Christmas poems, carols, readings and a short play by the Ivybridge Theatre company this month.

James said: “Many of our residents enjoy going to the theatre and it was fabulous to bring the show to the home, it was a real festive treat for everyone.

“I’d like to thank the Ivybridge Theatre Company for finding time in their busy schedule to come and perform for us here at Selkirk House, it was a really marvellous afternoon.”
