Resident Olive Bullard at The Firs care home in Felixstowe has been joined by friends and members of her five-generation family to celebrate her 100th birthday.

Olive, who has lived at The Firs for 10 years, was born in Ipswich on 4th March 1915, and married Charles Arthur, known as Reg, in September 1939 at St Matthews Church. Together they moved around the country for his work and had one daughter, Glenis Phillips.

Speaking about Olive, Glenis said: “She was a great mum and was very well liked.”

As well as receiving a telegram from HM The Queen, Olive enjoyed the day with members of her five-generation family. Those who attended Olive’s birthday party included Glenis, Olive’s granddaughter Denyse Lillistone, great granddaughter Rachel Thompson and great great grandchildren Grace, five, and Imogen, two.

Care home Manager Irene Worsdell said: “Everyone are The Firs is really pleased to be celebrating this special birthday with Olive – Happy birthday from everyone!”
