Care Home Open Day is an annual event aimed at encouraging members of the public to see the high quality care in their local care homes.

Residents and staff at Clayburn Court took part in ‘welly wanging’, hammer throwing and an Olympic Torch Relay to mark the Olympic Games in Rio.

The occasion was also a chance to celebrate the good work achieved by home’s staff in the past year.

Home Manager Sheila Fielding said: “We hold a host of activities throughout the year to keep residents mentally and physically stimulated. Many of the events involve bringing the outside community into the home. Over the next few months, Clayburn Court will be organising an Open Day, a Summer Fete and a Table Top Sale amongst other activities.
