Norton House care home handyman Garry Redpath and customer Denis Warrilow were filmed today as part of the launch of Care Home Idol.

The musical pair, who have been performing together at the home in Westminster for five years as well as other Anchor homes, entertained colleagues and customers at the film shoot with a variety of songs and their quick wit.

Their entry for the online competition run by,  is a Medley of "I Believe" and "Danny Boy". Watch it here and cast your vote in the competition.

They were watched by Activity Co-ordinator Antonio Meloni and customers Deidre Cuthbertson, Azizeh Ghadirian, Leonard Pearce and Anthony Pictor-Wainwright. 

Garry has sung since his childhood while Denis, who presented the Grey Pride petition to 10 Downing Street in 2011 along with Chief Executive Jane Ashcroft and other colleagues, has performed with the likes of Roy Hudd.

Norton House Manager Felicia Imafidon said she was thrilled how the film shoot had gone, especially as Denis and Garry had been practising for weeks.

She said: "Denis really enjoyed performing in front of an audience. He is such a talented pianist and Garry can sing so well.

"This was an example of organising a meaningful activity for customers which stimulates them mentally and is also fun.

"Garry and Denis did Norton House and Anchor proud.

"It was a real team effort as many colleagues helped with organising behind the scenes.

"We hope everyone in London will vote for them." Director Davina Ludlow praised Norton House for the "exceptional welcome" she had received. She said: "It has been lovely to hear Garry and Denis who have entertained us magnificently. The whole event at Norton House has been a pleasure."
