Barnfield care home resident Ruby Weeks celebrated her 97th birthday this week at a party with friends, colleagues, Anchor staff and three other generations of her own family.

Joining on this momentous occasion were her daughter Carol, grandson Steve and great grandson Jake.

Ruby blew out her candles of her cake - all 97 of them! - at the party held for her at Barnfield, near Upfield where she has lived for the last year.

Grandmother of three of grandchildren, Ruby moved to Windsor and worked at nearby Eton College as a Housekeeper.

She said: “The secret to long happy living life is dancing, being happy and having my dear family around me.”

Anchor Barnfield’s Manager Lukasz Bogusz said: “Ruby is a lovely and caring person. Who enjoys taking care of those around her. She always likes to take part in whatever is going on and enjoys all the activities organised by staff.”

As part of her birthday celebrations Anchor staff presented a book of memories from Ruby’s life.
