Anchor has received a top accolade at the national final of the Great British Care Awards.

Staff at Anchor’s extra-care schemes in Coventry were honoured with the Housing With Care award on 20 May at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham.

The award recognises those providing person-centred care services to vulnerable people living in housing supported schemes.

Anchor’s extra-care schemes are independent living developments that include a 24-hour care team which can provide pre-arranged housekeeping or personal care services when needed.

Anchor runs three extra-care schemes in the Coventry area: Leofric Lodge in Stoke Heath, Wyken Court in Wyken and Henry Court in Holbrooks.

The team won at the West Midlands heat of the awards in November before going on to the national final.

Leanne Kaocharoen, Home Care Manager for care services in Coventry, said:

“I’m extremely proud of the whole Anchor team in Coventry for getting recognition from the Great British Care Awards. Everyone has worked very hard and our staff are absolutely dedicated to providing excellent care for our residents.”

The judges said:

“This forward thinking team work together to unite a community of wellbeing. The judges were impressed by their person centred approach and creativity to maintain wellbeing for their customers.”
