Anchor staff from two Surrey care homes participated in the Surrey Memory Walk 2014 at Painshill Park, Cobham, on Sunday 7 September, raising over £300 for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Staff from West Hall care home in West Byfleet and Moore Place care home in Esher (due to open in 2015) joined forces and walked either 10km or 2km to raise funds and awareness of people living with dementia.

This Morning presenter Ruth Langsford attended the event, tweeting a picture of her mum walking with the team, and joined in celebrations at Painshill Park, where entertainment was provided all day with face painting for children, live music and refreshments.

Lesley Loizou, Customer Relations Manager at West Hall, said, “Participating in the Memory Walk was great fun and we are so pleased to have raised over £300 for the Alzheimer’s Society and raise awareness of dementia in our local community.”
