Anchor will be helping to raising awareness of dementia on 18th March by taking part in the annual World Rocks Against Dementia (WRAD) event.

Anchor, an award winning not-for-profit provider of care and housing for older people, offers purpose built retirement properties and specialist dementia care homes, in over 1,000 locations across the UK. Anchor will be the first housing and care provider to take part in WRAD.

Anchor locations up and down the country will be hosting their own musical events on the day; everything from sing-a-longs, to tea dances, or even full music festivals – all to raise awareness of dementia and the problems that face people living with the condition.

WRAD was started by Norman McNamara in 2016. ‘Norm’, who is living with dementia, also established the Purple Angels movement in the UK to help people better understand the condition, with the aim of making the world a more ‘dementia friendly’ place. Anchor is looking forward to collaborating with WRAD in their shared vision for a dementia friendly world.
