Anchor’s Manor Court and Selkirk House care homes in Plymouth held a stand at Plymouth University for Volunteer’s Week which on this week.

Manor Court in Blandford Road and Selkirk House in Church Road are looking for volunteers to help run activities for residents and bring in new ideas to the homes.

Manor Court Hospitality Manager Karisse Smaldon said: “We’re always looking for friendly, approachable people to spend time with our residents, and university students have a lot to offer.”

Selkirk House home manager Michelle Amesbury added:  “Working in the care sector provides so much satisfaction because you can have such a positive impact on the lives of older people. Our residents love doing different activities, and having more volunteers to help us will really benefit their wellbeing.”
