Rebecca McCarthy and Sonia Hamilton-Martin from Moore Place Care Home were invited along to the Junior School assembly of the Esher Church Primary School on Wednesday 10 September.

With the focus on dementia in September, Rebecca spoke to the children about what it means for someone to live with dementia and why September is an important month where we think about helping people who have memory problems. Sonia talked about Moore Place and why people move into a care home, and how important it is to support older people. Sonia also asked the children for help in coming up with ideas as to what they would like to put into a time capsule which will be buried in the grounds of Moore Place at the end of September. Eight children with the most original ideas will then be invited to come along to help bury the capsule.  Both Rebecca and Sonia were very impressed with the positive response they received from the children.
