At Selkirk House, we provide residential care for 39 older people who may have physical disabilities and dementia. Staff are on hand 24-hours a day to provide care and support.

 

Set in a quiet location and in its own grounds, Selkirk House is close to the local shops, pubs and post office.  Many rooms have lovely views of the well-kept gardens.

 

We offer:

Accommodation

• Single en-suite rooms with WC and washbasin

• Telephone point in all bedrooms for your own direct line

• Television point and connections for digital and satellite TV

• Call bells in each room providing 24-hour help

• Rooms decorated to high standard

• We encourage personal items to be brought in to enhance your room

• 2 lounges with a TV and quiet areas to read or relax

• Tea-making facilities in each room where you and your visitors can make drinks

• Bathrooms specially equipped so you can relax in comfort

• Lifts to upper floor

 

Dining

• Choice of healthy and nutritious meals and any special dietary requirements catered for

• Unlike other care homes there is no need to order food in advance

 

Leisure activities

• Newspapers can be ordered and delivered daily to your room

• Selkirk House has well-maintained gardens to sit out in summer and which residents are encouraged to help with

• Stimulating and wide-ranging activities are organised at our home each week

 

Facilities

• Wheelchair access and car parking are available

• Pets are welcome by arrangement

• We have a personal laundry facility and service

• A pay telephone is available

• Religious services and meetings are arranged monthly

 

Health and personal care

• GP services available on request

• 3 local surgeries

• Our Hairdresser visits twice a week

• Our Chiropodist visits regularly or on request

• Dentist & Optician– visiting and local services are available

• The District Nurse and Physiotherapist visit by arrangement

• Holistic therapy – details of local providers are available

• The town centre of Plymouth and the railway station, 4 miles

• Close to excellent bus routes to Plymouth City Centre and local beauty spots

• Local shopping centre with banks, shops, library – a short walk away
