At Chalkmead, we provide residential care for 50 older people with varying physical abilities and mental frailty associated with dementia.  Staff are on hand 24-hours a day to provide care and support.

Set in a quiet residential location and in its own grounds, Chalkmead is close to local amenities and excellent bus routes to nearby towns.  Most rooms have lovely views of the well-kept gardens.

Accommodation

• 50 single bedrooms with washbasin

• Respite care is available

• Rooms decorated to high standard

• We encourage personal items to be brought in to enhance your room

• Telephone point in all bedrooms for your own direct line

• Television point and connections for digital and satellite TV

• Call bells in each room providing 24-hour help

• We have 5 cosy lounges with TV, video and DVD facilities and quiet areas for reading and relaxing

• Specially equipped bathrooms so you can relax in comfort or enjoy a refreshing shower

• Lift to all floors

Dining

• Choice of healthy and nutritious meals and any special dietary requirements catered for • Supper is served in the dining rooms or can be enjoyed in your own room

• Unlike other care homes there is no need to order food in advance

Leisure activities

• Newspapers can be ordered and delivered daily to your room

• Chalkmead has an elegant garden with patio and sitting areas, ideal for the summer

• Stimulating and wide-ranging activities are organised at our home each week such as day trips, arts and crafts etc.

Facilities

• Wheelchair access and car parking are available

• Pets are welcome by arrangement

• We have a personal laundry facility and laundry service

• A pay telephone is available

• Regular religious services and meetings are held

Health and personal care

• Our GP visits weekly or on request

• District Nurse, Optician, Dentist and Physiotherapist visit by arrangement

• Our Chiropodist visits every 6weeks or on request

• Local Holistic Therapists are available on request

• Our Hairdresser visits every week

• Local village shops, within 5 minutes walking distance

• Redhill Town Centre, 2 miles

• East Surrey Hospital , 3 miles
