At Birchlands, we provide residential care for 51 older people with increasing physical and mental frailty.  Staff are on hand 24-hours a day to provide care and support.

Set in a quiet village location in its own beautiful grounds, Birchlands is close to local amenities and excellent bus routes to nearby towns.  Most rooms have bay windows with lovely views of the well-kept gardens.

Accommodation

• 51 single bedrooms with washbasin

• Respite care is available

• Rooms decorated to high standard

• We encourage personal items to be brought in to enhance your room

• Telephone point in all bedrooms for your own direct line

• Television point and connections for digital and satellite TV

• Call bells in each room providing 24-hour help

• We have 7 cosy lounges, 3 with TVs, video and DVD facilities

• We have quiet areas for reading and relaxing

• Specially equipped bathrooms so you can relax in comfort or enjoy a refreshing shower

• Lift to all floors

Dining

• Supper is served in the dining rooms or can be enjoyed in your own room

• Choice of healthy and nutritious meals and any special dietary requirements catered for

• Unlike other care homes there is no need to order food in advance

Leisure activities

• Birchlands has a beautiful large garden with coppice, patio and sitting areas, ideal to sit out in summer

• Stimulating and wide-ranging activities are organised at our home each week

Facilities

• Wheelchair access and car parking are available

• Dial-a-Ride service is available on request

• Pets are welcome by arrangement

• We have a personal laundry facility and laundry service

• A pay telephone is available

• Regular religious services and meetings are held

Health and personal care

• Our GP is available on request

• District Nurse, Optician, Dentist and Physiotherapist visit by arrangement

• Our Chiropodist visits every 4-6 weeks or on request

• Local Holistic Therapists are available on request

• Our Hairdresser visits once a week
