At Kirklands, we provide professional residential care for 40 older people

with increasing mental and physical frailty and varying mental and physical disabilities. Staff are on hand 24-hours a day to provide care and support.

Situated in the heart of the beautiful Lake District , Kirklands is set in a quiet location within the market town of Cockermouth, close to a variety of local amenities.

We offer:

Accommodation

• 40 single en-suite rooms

• All room are centrally heated

• Television point and connections for digital and satellite TV

• Call bells in each room providing 24-hour help

• Rooms decorated to high standard

• We encourage furniture and personal items to brought in to make it your home

• 4 cosy lounges with TVs and quiet areas for reading and relaxing, etc

• There are communal kitchenette areas available on each floor

• Bathrooms specially equipped so you can relax in comfort or enjoy a refreshing shower

• Lift to all floors

Dining

• The three main meals can be served in the dining areas or in the privacy of your room

• Choice of healthy and nutritious meals and any special dietary requirements catered for

• Unlike other care homes, there is no need to order food in advance

Leisure activities

• Newspapers can be ordered and delivered daily to your room

• Kirklands has a pleasant garden and patio ideal for sitting out in summer

• Stimulating and wide-ranging activities are organised at our home each week

Facilities

• Wheelchair access is available

• Car parking is available

• Pets are allowed by arrangement

• We have a personal laundry facility and laundry service

• A pay telephone is available

Health and personal care

• A local GP is available on request. There are 3 local surgeries for you to choose from

• District and Specialist Nurses, Dentist, Optician, Chiropodist and Physiotherapist visit by arrangement

• Our Hairdresser visits weekly

Local area

• Cockermouth Town Centre with a variety of shops, cafes, etc (within walking distance)

• Wordsworth House, ¼ mile

• Cockermouth Cottage Hospital, 1 mile

• Whitehaven Hospital , 16 miles
