At Townend Close, we provide residential care for 39 older people with varying physical and mental frailties, who wish to maintain their independence but now need some practical and personal care. Staff are on hand 24-hours a day to provide care and support.

Set in a quiet location and in its own grounds, Townend Close is near to local amenities and excellent bus routes to nearby towns. Most rooms have views off the well-kept gardens and surrounding countryside.

Accommodation

• 38 single en-suite rooms with kitchenette

• A single en-suite room available for respite care

• Rooms decorated to high standard

• Telephone point in each room for your own direct line

• Television point and connections for satellite and digital TV

• Call bells in each room providing 24 hour help

• We encourage personal items to be brought in to enhance your room

• A main cosy lounge with TV, video and DVD facilities and quiet areas for reading and relaxing

• The lounge and dining room have excellent views of the countryside

• Specially equipped bathrooms, one with spa facility, so you can relax in comfort or enjoy a refreshing shower

• Lift to all floors

Dining

• Supper is served in the lounge or can be enjoyed in your own room

• Choice of healthy and nutritious meals and any special dietary requirements are catered for

• Unlike other care homes, there is no need to order food in advance

Leisure activities

• Newspapers can be ordered and delivered daily to your room

• Townend Close has a well-maintained garden area, patio and seated areas, ideal for summer

• Stimulating and wide-ranging activities are organised at our home each week

• Pets are welcome by arrangement

• We have a personal laundry facility and laundry service

• A pay telephone is available

• Monthly church services and meetings are held

• Weekly health clinic is held

• GP available on request

• Our Hairdresser visits every week

• Our Barber visits every 6 weeks

• Our Chiropodist visits every 3 months or on request

• District Nurse, Optician, Dentist, and Physiotherapist visit by arrangement

• Holistic Therapists are available on request
