At Thornton Hill, we provide residential care for older people with increasing physical and mental frailty, varying disabilities and dementia. Staff are on hand 24-hours a day to provide care and support.

Thornton Hill is set in a village location in its own grounds with fantastic views over the Yorkshire Dales. Most of our rooms have lovely views of the well-kept garden, courtyard and countryside.

• Single en-suite rooms

• Some rooms are specially designed for dementia needs

• Rooms decorated to high standard

• We encourage furniture and personal items to be brought in to make it your own home

• Telephone point available in your room on request

• Call bells in each room providing 24-hour help

• There are 4 cosy lounges with TVs and stereos, and quiet areas for relaxing and reading

• We have 2 conservatories with fantastic views of the countryside and garden

• Bathrooms specially equipped so you can relax in comfort or enjoy a refreshing shower

• Lifts to all floors

Dining

• All main meals are served in the dining room or can be enjoyed in your own room

• Choice of healthy and nutritious meals and any special dietary requirements catered for

• Unlike other care homes, there is no need to order food in advance

Leisure activities

• Newspapers can be ordered and delivered daily to your room

• Thornton Hill has a pleasant garden, courtyard, pond and sitting area, ideal for sitting out in the summer

• Stimulating and wide-ranging activities are organised at our home each week

• Wheelchair access is available

• Car parking is available

• Pets are welcome by arrangement

• We have a personal laundry facility and laundry service

• A pay telephone is available

• Regular religious services and meetings are arranged

• Local GP visits on request

• District Nurse, Dentist and Optician visit by arrangement

• Our Hairdresser visits once a week

• Our Chiropodist visits every 6 weeks

• Holistic therapies are available on request
