Welcome to Milldene, South Gosforth

We’re here to help and look forward to giving you a warm welcome.

At Milldene, we provide nursing care for 13 older people who have enduring mental health needs. Staff are on hand 24-hours a day to provide care and support.

Set in an urban location and with its own garden and patio area, Milldene is close to the local shops, pubs and post office and the city of Newcastle upon Tyne . Most rooms have views of the garden.

We offer:

Accommodation

• Single en-suite rooms with WC and washbasin

• Telephone point in each room for your own direct line

• Television point and connections for digital and satellite TV

• Call bells in each room providing 24-hour help

• Rooms decorated to high standard

• We encourage personal items to brought in to enhance your room

• Cosy lounge with a TV. There is also a patio area off the dining room and a sitting area at the front of the home which are accessible for wheelchair users

• Tea-making facilities are available to make drinks for you and your visitors

• Bathrooms specially equipped so you can relax in comfort or take a shower if you wish

• Lift to upper floor

Dining

• Choice of healthy and nutritious meals and any special dietary requirements catered for

• All meals are served in the dining room or can be enjoyed in your room if you prefer

• Unlike other care homes, there is no need to order food in advance

Leisure activities

• Newspapers can be delivered daily to your room

• Milldene has a pleasant garden area to sit out in summer

• Stimulating and wide-ranging activities are organised at our home each week

• Wheelchair access is available

• Car parking is available

• Pets are allowed by arrangement

• We have a personal laundry facility and laundry service

• A pay telephone is available

Health and personal care

• There is weekly GP surgery at Milldene and a local surgery. Otherwise a GP is available on request

• Hairdresser visits once a fortnight or on request

• Chiropodist visits every 4-6 weeks or on request

• The District Nurse and Physiotherapist visits by arrangement

Local area

The town centre of Gosforth is 1 mile away. Newcastle Town Centre is a short distance by bus/metro with its shops and theatre in the town centre. It is a short car ride or bus/metro to Wallsend, Northshields, Whitley Bay and the airport.

The nearest hospitals are the Freeman Hospital which is 2 miles away and the Royal Victoria Infirmary which is in the centre of Newcastle . South Gosforth Metro Station in 300m.
