At Bargate, we provide residential care for 15 older people with higher dependence needs and care for 13 people who have physical disabilities and moderate dementia. At times we are also able to provide interim and respite. Staff are on hand 24-hours a day to provide care and support.

Set in a quiet location in its own beautiful grounds, Bargate is close to the local shops, pubs and post offices. Most rooms have lovely views of the well kept gardens and we are also close to excellent bus routes and a short car ride from the seaside towns of Redcar and Saltburn.

Accommodation

• Single en-suite rooms with WC and washbasin

• Kitchen facilities on each floor where you and your visitors can make drinks

• Television point and connections for digital and satellite TV

• Call bells in each room providing 24-hour help

• Rooms decorated to high standard

• Guest suite available where visitors can stay overnight

• We encourage personal items to be brought in to enhance your room

• Cosy lounges – two on each floor and with a TV, video and CD player plus two quiet areas for reading.

• There is a patio area off the dining room which includes seating area and grassed area to the south side and a coppice to the north side. These areas are accessible for wheelchair users

• Bathrooms which are specially equipped, one with a spa facility, so you can relax in comfort

• Lifts to all floors

Dining

• Choice of healthy and nutritious meals and any special dietary requirements catered for

• Breakfast is served in the dining room or you can enjoy a continental breakfast brought to your room

• Unlike other care homes, there is no need to order food in advance

Leisure activities

• Newspapers can be delivered daily to your room

• Bargate has a lovely garden to sit out in summer and residents can assist with gardening and the vegetable plot

• Stimulating and wide ranging activities are organised at our home each week

• Pets are welcome by arrangement

• We have a personal laundry facility and laundry service

• A pay telephone is available

• Religious services and meetings are arranged

• Local GPs are available on request

• Our Hairdresser visits fortnightly

• The Physiotherapist visits by arrangement

Local area

The town centre of Middlesbrough is 1 mile away and we have the following facilities nearby: golf course and theatre are 1 mile away. Swimming pool and gym are ¼ mile away, museum and cinema are 1 mile away, bowling alley and a selection of restaurants are ½ mile away]

The nearest hospital is James Cook University Hospital which is 1½ miles away and Middlesbrough Railway Station is 1 mile away.
