At Elderwood, we provide residential care for 40 older people with varying abilities and for those who want to maintain their independence but now find that they need some practical and personal care. Staff are on hand 24-hours a day to provide care and support.

Set in a quiet location in its own attractive grounds, Elderwood is close to the local shops, pubs and post office. Most rooms have views of the well kept gardens.

We offer:

Accommodation

• Single en-suite rooms with WC and washbasin

• Fully-fitted kitchenettes on each floor where you and your visitors can make drinks

• Television point and connections for digital and satellite TV

• Telephone point in all bedrooms for your own direct line

• Call bells in each room providing 24-hour help

• Rooms decorated to high standard

• All rooms centrally heated

• We encourage personal items to be brought in to enhance your room

• Cosy lounges – one on each floor with a TV. There is also a sun lounge situated on the ground floor that is a quiet room for reading etc.

• Bathrooms and showers specially equipped so you can relax in comfort

• Lifts to all floors

Dining

• Choice of healthy and nutritious meals and any special dietary requirements catered for

• Breakfast is served in the dining room or you can enjoy breakfast brought to your room

• Unlike other care homes, there is no need to order food in advance

Leisure activities

• Newspapers can be ordered and delivered daily to your room

• Elderwood has a pleasant garden area

• Stimulating and wide-ranging activities are organised at our home each week

Facilities

• Wheelchair access is available

• Car parking is available

• Pets are welcome by arrangement

• We have a personal laundry facility and laundry service

• A pay telephone is available

• Religious services and meetings are arranged

Health and personal care

• GPs available on request

• Our Hairdresser visits 2 days a week

• Our Chiropodist once every 4 weeks or on request

• The District Nurse visits by arrangement

• The Physiotherapist visits by arrangement
