MPs are briefed on the case for a Minister for Older People by Jane Ashcroft at the party conferences.
Chief Executive of Anchor, Jane Ashcroft, has been attending this year's party conferences armed with our 'Grey Paper' to raise awareness of the Grey Pride campaign.
Grey Pride was launched back in April and calls on the Government to appoint a dedicated Minister for Older People.
The 'Grey Paper' outlines the case for a central portfolio, including how the minister could link up thinking on social care funding and pensions, as well as challenge ageist views still rife in British society.
Jane commented "Older people's issues have never before ridden so high on the news or the political agenda.
"But Westminster is failing to deal with these issues effectively."
The annual party conferences offer Anchor an opportunity to discuss the issues affecting older people with a wide array of politicians, including Steve Webb, the Minister for Pensions.
