Anchor 2020: Meeting the challenges of older people’s housing and care
Anchor Trust has been evolving since we began life in 1968, providing sheltered housing as Help the Aged (Oxford) Housing Association.
We pioneered the concept of home improvement agencies with the creation of Anchor Staying Put. And we have helped people lead longer, happier lives through businesses such as Anchor Integrated Care and Housing, a model employed at Denham Garden Village, our award-winning retirement village in Buckinghamshire.
The range of our services, which also includes care homes, home care and sheltered housing to rent and to buy, means we have a great deal to be proud of. But we cannot afford to be complacent. We recognise that our world and marketplace are changing. The older people of tomorrow will be increasingly demanding and are likely to have higher care needs and for longer. That means decisions have to be made now in order to ensure we can meet those rising needs, expectations and aspirations.
Anchor 2020: Meeting the challenges of older people’s housing and care is intended to inform the debate on the opportunities and challenges presented by our ageing society and help us ensure future generations of older people get the best out of life.
